Customer Rating: Summary: Better Bossa Nova collections out there Comment: I haven't had much luck with trying to get good Brazilian music lately. This is just ok, not the type of Bossa Nova that you would usually think about with Brazil.
Customer Rating: Summary: Enjoyable rhythms Comment: I usually approach Brazilian music from the jazz point of view, so this compillation was an interesting change for me - much broader in scope, full of interesting musicians and performances (only some of them quite close to jazz).
If you're a jazz fan(atic) this migh border on tedious and repetitive, but otherwise it's obviouslly interesting and challenging...
I'm therefore giving it a star above the level of my listening pleasure.
Customer Rating: Summary: jazzy, upbeat bossa nova Comment: This collection is different from what I knew as bossa nova. It's jazzier and more upbeat. It's not exactly what I thought I would get, but I like it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Brazilian Music Comment: This CD provides you with some great tunes; danceable, easy to the ears, romantic and very sensual. The songs take me away and place me in the heart of Brazil; the land of high soaring spirits. Would highly recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best Comment: This is probably my favorite album of all time. I purchased it about 8 years ago and listen to it regularly. Can't understand a single lyric from it (a few excepted) but it remains one of the best I own. It is soulful, enchanting, exciting, and mysterious all at once.
If you are in the mood for something different that will grow on you, try this one. You won't regret it. I promise.
For something similar and equally intoxicating, try Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Wave" or "The Composer of Desafinado, Plays". Both fantastic choices.
