Summary: Victorian Mood
Comment: This is a wonderful CD with a good variety of tunes which were popular in Victorian times. It creates a very nice background mood which is pleasantly reminiscent of an era when life was much more simple, electricity was non-existent and one relied on such things as music boxes and later on the hand-cranked Victrola to provide music in ones' home. The music boxes featured on this CD are actual Victorian instruments and if one has a Victorian style decor (which I do), this is an excellent touch of ambience.

Comment: "Victorian Musical Boxes" is a wonderful collection of melodies which helps to transport a person back to a simpler time when music was produced by a steel comb thus producing a soothing, tinkling sound reminiscent of childhood. This collection offers a diverse collection of melodies which is bound to evoke memories of those days gone by. The very nature of the music is in sharp contrast to much of the loud, annoying sounds which invade our lives from all sides. Sitting down, perhaps with a cup of tea, this CD will calm and soothe the day's troubles and cares away. Remember with joy the simpler times of life, and for a few short moments enjoy again the music which filled the lives of so many when music was just starting to be enjoyed by the masses. This is sure to please!
