Comment: This CD is Rachelle Ferrell at her best. I love this CD. The way she uses her voice as an instument is fantastic. I loved it in the 90's when I first purchased it and I love it even more today. I've purchased this CD as gifts. It is absolutely fabulous.

Comment: The site review puts her in the same company as Anita Baker. That's just laughable. She has a nice voice which is unusually deep, but there's plenty of work to do before she can stand next to Anita.

Comment: This is a cd that soothes the savage beast. Rachelle, Rachelle, that's all I can say. The range of her voice on this cd is out of this world, and though this was my first purchase of her music it will not be my last. Get this, you won't be disappointed.

Comment: This is one of my alltime favorite CDs. This is the second time I've purchased this particular CD. Rachelle has an absolutely wonderful voice and I can't understand why or how it is that more people don't know about her talent. Most of the time, when I mention her name people don't know who I'm talking about. When I play her CD for them, the love her voice. If you like singers like Minnie Ripperton or Denise Williams, then you'll love Rachelle Farrell. It's just about guaranteed that any CD you purchase with her name on it is a sure fire winner.

The first album by Pennsylvania's Rachelle Ferrell was a jazz project released only in Japan. This pop-soul followup curbs most of her jazz moves, but you can sense Ferrell's background in the way she slides gracefully through harmonies and in the way she brings a strong adult sensibility to the love songs. Like fellow jazz/R&B crossover artists Anita Baker and Oleta Adams, Ferrell is at her best on the smoldering ballads, where her smoky voice epitomizes sensuality. All the same, her Minnie Riperton-like wailing on the uptempo "It Only Took a Minute" will raise the hairs on the back of your neck. --Geoffrey Himes
