Customer Rating: Summary: good music, bad sound Comment: I'm a huge Leon fan, but the sound of this album literally gives me a headache. The ceaseless shriek of the women background singers is way too high up in the mix. It overpowers everything else. After the third song I'm running for the stereo to just make it stop. I absolutely love Leon's studio work and consider him one of the all time great songwriters but this thing is just nerve wracking.
Customer Rating: Summary: Leon is the best,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Comment: Leon has always been at the top of his game, he understands life and puts it into music. He'll always be my favorite Rocker. I always plug a Leon CD into my Harley when I ride, it adds that extra touch to the ride. I can ride off into the land of "Space and Time".
Customer Rating: Summary: Leon Russell Comment: Only one of the best live recordings of all time. Now on C.D it only sounds better remastered.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't take the "poor sound quality" complaints too seriously Comment: My my have we gotten prissy with what we expect from a sound recording! This concert recorded in August, 1972 is of similar quality to the Woodstock soundtrack or the Grateful Dead's self-titled live album from 1971. There is A LOT of energy here, incredible passion, great musicianship..in fact it's kind of a farewell to Leon Russell's most well known period in music..when he had a big band of musicians backing him. Leon Russell changed his sound after this album. If you liked Mad Dogs and Englishmen, and The Concert for Bangla Desh you'll like this!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Leon at his best! Comment: I had this on vinyl and finally got the CD. The performance of "Youngblood" is worth the whole album, but the raw energy of the the live shows is a feast for the ears for true Leon fans.
