Customer Rating: Summary: TEVIN CAMPBELL Comment: As you already know that Tevin Campbell is one of the best male artists in the business. Most of the people in the music business now are just entertainers and are not true artists. I love all of Tevin's CDs, and "I'm Ready" does not have one single bad song. This CD also has a variety of producers and songwriters; Prince, Quincy Jones, Al B, Babyface, Narada Michael Walden, and maybe some others, but it is all so well put together and everything just really connects. There are also a variety of or different types of songs and of course, Tevin delivers with such great energy as he always does. He is such an excellent singer, I could and sometimes I do listen to him all day and everyday. Some of his songs are timeless. His voice is so well trained you really don't get tired of listening to him. As always Tevin sings from his heart and soul and has a great sound. This CD is a great buy. I give it "5" stars and/or A+. You won't be disappointed!
Customer Rating: Summary: Maturity beyond his years Comment: There is some dispute over Tevin Campbell's age. Some sources claim that he was born in 1978, others say 1976, but one thing that is certain is that he was no older than 16 when he made this album, and from listening to it, it's hard to believe that he was even that young when he made it. His soulfulness shines brightly on the hits "Can We Talk", "Always In My Heart", and the title track, which all have brilliantly grown-up-sounding production that well compliments his mature singing skills.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tevin Campbell's CD - I'm Ready Comment: I love the CD. I received it in a timely manner.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love It!!!! Comment: Now what pre-teen/teenage girl during this era wasn't in love with Tevin Cambell? Despite his outcome, hands down, the boy sang some great tunes! Brought back childhood memories, played it for two months straight alongside "T.E.V.I.N!"
Customer Rating: Summary: Very strong follow up from a strong singer Comment: Tevin Campbell emerged as a true soul singer with I'm Ready, his second album. The Texas native had the good fortune of working with some of the best producers and writers in the business to construct an excellent work. The first single, "Can We Talk," was written and produced by Babyface and his longtime partner, Daryl Simmons. Behind a percussive rhythm track and a sensuous melody, Campbell patiently steps into the lyric, but soon bows to an urgent cry. The infectious chorus has a timeless ring and there's no secret as to why it held the number one spot on the R&B charts for three consecutive weeks. "I'm Ready," was another strong song. The two singles to follow were "Always in My Heart" and "Don't Say Goodbye Girl." The former romances the heart with its comforting melody and supplicating lyric, while the latter is a mid-tempo number with a romantic lyric insulated with a pop texture. Prince, whose credit is listed as Paisley Park, also gives the project a funky edge with the unreleased numbers "Uncle Sam" and the grooving ballad "Shhh." There is much to savor on this album.
