Customer Rating: Summary: " Made Loud to be Played Loud" Comment: This is the album that captures the spirit of the roadhouse band. This is not the J. Guiles of the age of MTV. Along with Bruce Springsteen's Born To Run, Full house with the incomparable Whammer Jammer is the essence of the rock club style of music.
If you want to know what good party music of the early 70's was like, you can't go wrong with Full House.
Customer Rating: Summary: blast this baby loud Comment: The J. Geils Band live is truly a spectacular listen. They were a very talented band that was able to mix blues, boogie, and hard rock together in one giant pot and come across as the greatest party band that ever lived. There was a point in time when the band seemed unstoppable. Listening to this live album will show you just how amazing they used to be. Don't get me wrong- their studio albums are equally amazing, but something special can be found on their live albums. A certain amount of energy that wasn't easy for many rock and roll bands to pull off. This band somehow managed to do it over and over again. People want to talk about bands that can never be imitated. THESE guys are the perfect example of one.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Best Live Album Ever Made. Period Comment: This is without an iota of doubt the best live album ever made. Miss out on "Live - Full House", by The J. Geils Band at your own peril.
How any rock band could muster the sheer amount of energy, virtuousity and pure glee displayed on this record is simply beyond comprehension. I say this not as a new convert but as a music lover who stumbled upon this amazing album some thirty-odd years ago. Relistening to it every other year does not diminish its ability to amaze.
Finally, how about an expanded reissue of this album adding bonus 1972 live material sure to be lingering somewhere in Atlantic`s vaults? Now THAT would be a treat!
Customer Rating: Summary: Blow your face out, baby! Comment: Wow, this is the real deal! J. Geils Band in top form, doing what they do best. One over-the-top jam after another, scarcely taking a breath in between. This is a must-have album for lovers of full-tilt rock and roll!
