Summary: Great cd but....
Comment: This cd has all of the classic Boston songs we all love, and a few new ones at the time of release. But this compelation could have been much better. I thought that a greatest hit cd was just that, a "greatest hits". How come "We're Ready", and "Can'tcha Say/Still In Love" were omitted? Both of these songs charted in the top 50 when released as singles. Also, what in hell is Tom Scholz obsession with "Living For You"? He also put that song on "Corporate America" Come on Tom that song is really not that good. If you felt the need to include something from the "Walk On" cd then "Surrender To Me" would have been an much better choice. Of the newer songs "Higher Power" is really good. It rocks with the trademark Boston guitar sound that we all know so well. "The Star Spangled Banner/4th Of July Reprise" is totally cool. Very up-tempo with melodic guitars; not to mention the awsome begining with the hyper space pedal guitar effects unique to Boston. Good cd to add to your collection.

Summary: Very Good Value
Comment: Boston is one of the great bands of rock and this collection is excellent.

They are one of those groups that had an amazing debut, the self titled, 'Boston'. It was one of the all time great albums in rock history. This CD contains many of the best songs from that one and adds a few others.

The great songs include the following: More Than A Feeling, Don't Look Back, Foreplay/Long Time, Amanda, Rock and Roll Band, and Smokin'. There are several other very good ones as well.

One cannot go wrong with this CD. It is a great collection by a classic band.

Summary: what a great album
Comment: From beginning to end, this is a great album. I have been a Boston fan since the very first day I heard Rock N Roll Band. I was always disappointed that the band always waited so long to release a new album, but it was always worth the wait when the album came out, all the way to Corporate America. I think that they should have put the Star Spangled Banner as the number one song on this album, that is such a heart pumping tune. I would have also liked to see them put some more songs from Walk On on the cd. No matter what Boston album you prefer, they are all great albums, and if anyone got to see them in concert, I unfortunately had to wait until their Corporate America Tour, they sounded just as good in concert as they did on all of their cd's. Unfortunately, Rock and Roll lost a great lead singer on March 9th, 2007. Rest in peace Brad Delp, thanks for all of the music and memories.

Summary: Way to go there Tom Scholz...
Comment: ...and BOSTON. This compilation really shows who the creative and musical brain within the band BOSTON is - just listen to the songs. BTW he also plays all the instruments and does everything himself apart from some drums and most of the vocals. Keep up the excellent work Tom Scholz!!!!

Summary: This music is "Smokin'" (4.5 stars)
Comment: To a lot of people, Boston is the epitome of arena rock. Their combination of soaring vocals, hard-rockin' guitars and wonderful melodies has prefigured such famous acts as Foreigner, Journey, The Cars, and many others. Their first album sold 17 million copies, making it the best-selling debut album of all time. And with less than half a dozen albums in the past, thirty years, they were able to rack up almost a dozen Top 40 hit songs.
Of course, statistics are only numbers. This collection is about the music. Songs such as "Rock and Roll Band", "More Than A Feeling", "Smokin'", "Amanda" and "Peace of Mind" have become classics, all of which are included in this compilation. Additionally, there's a new arena-styled ballad, "Tell Me" and Tom Scholz's rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner", which is a beautiful version.
The only thing I would like to bring up is leaving off the soothing ballad, "Let Me Take You Home Tonight" and the upbeat, sing-a-long, "Something About You", both of which get a good deal of airplay on the radio. (Of course, if you can download songs on your computer, this problem may not be so bad.) If it weren't for the new songs, they would've had enough space for them! Oh well...

Overall, aside leaving off the two tracks, this is a great collection that will have bring up memories for old fans and make memories for new ones. I definitely recommend it, and with doing so, would like to add, thanks for the time, and peace.
