Customer Rating: Summary: Smooth Jazz at it's best Comment: If you like jazz guitar instrumentals, then you'll love Norman Brown. Norman's guitar style & sound is very much like George Benson, but with Brown's own, unique flair blended in. His music is very soothing and I find it a great way to relax and unwind. I'm well on my way to collecting all of Norman Brown's CD's and highly recommend him to any Jazz lovers music library.
Customer Rating: Summary: Smooth Jazz with sweet Guitar tracks! Comment: Maybe a 4.5 but I don't mine giving it 5 stars.
Very Good Jazz and I think I'm beginning to love Jazz remakes of Popular Music. Norman is one of the reasons for this change. All 3 remakes on this album is very well done. Take out the background singers and I'd call it perfect. Origins like the title is also good.
If you like George Benson, you'll love this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Still The Very Best Of Norman Brown Comment: If I had to recommend just one CD from Norman Brown, "After the Storm" would be it. Still his best effort, the CD that introduced me to his music and the one I introduced my wife to. Gifted guitarist, every bit the caliber of George Benson, though vocally, not in the same league. And that's why I'd recommned this one over later releases. He sticks to what he does best; instrumentals. "After the Storm" is as smooth as contemporary jazz get's.
Customer Rating: Summary: Better Late Than... Comment: I only just discovered this CD after buying and loving his album, "Just Chillin'." I love that CD and "After the Storm" is my newest love! I think the entire album is wonderful! But here are a few favorites: "Take Me There," "After The Storm," "Lydian," & "El Dulce Sol." However, the classics such as "For The Love Of You" & "Any Love" are nice too. I think it just flows well like a smooth jazz album should. It's well worth every penny. It's nice to get your money's worth! Listen, see what you think!
Customer Rating: Summary: OH SO SMOOTH Comment: this is a very very nice CD, one of Brown's best. I would own it if just for the track LYDIAN. I absolutely love the groove and feel of that track and Brown's playing is right on. The songs are good and the production is superb. If you like smooth jazz with a bit of an R&B flavor I would recommend this disc. Listen to LYDIAN, crank it up and I dare you not to tap your feet.
