Customer Rating: Summary: What a rush. Comment: I'd forgotten just how good Creedence was. The only song missing from this compilation, as far as I'm concerned, is Born on the Bayou. It's funny, back in the day, Creedence Clearwater Revival was not really on my radar--I liked their stuff when it came on the radio, but not enough to buy the albums. There was so much really great music coming out when I was in high school (70-74) that I liked more. I took for granted the musical riches available. Voicing the opinion that "music today isn't nearly as good as back in MY day" would make me an old fogey. So I won't.
But I'll tell you what--my young adult daughter came over while I was playing this CD. As she came through the door, she hollered, "Whooooo! CCR!"
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the greatest c.d.'s ever! Comment: This c.d. captures the great sounds that is distinctively Creedence. Their version of "I heard it through the grapevine" is by far the best I have ever heard. Great song selections make this a c.d. you will never get tired of!
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Single Compilation Disc for any Artist Comment: I got my first copy of this when I was in high school and 14 years later I still listen to it fairly regularly. Apparently Fogerty was a California boy and not the bayou brat he comes across as in many of his songs. No matter, his imagination was pretty extraordinary at that time and you will believe in his storytelling regardless of the facts. Nobody did the fierce young man rockabilly blues like John Fogerty in his prime. If you don't have this disc you need to get it and that's no lie. All it's really missing is the midnight special though they had other decent songs. Driving around late at night in the hills of southern Indiana as a teenager listening to this music was a transformative experience that I wish everyone would have. Okay I'll stop now.
Favorite tracks, Lookin' out my Backdoor, Bad Moon Rising, Fortunate Son, Have you Ever Seen the Rain, Someday Never Comes!, Okay I'll stop again :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Super Compilation!! Comment: If you would like to take a Road Trip and give your Passenger the Total Creedence/John Fogherty experience Bring this and a doobie.
You will be Chillin Like Lebowski.
Awesome.....
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Into To CCR Comment: It may not have every song that every die-hard fan would like, but this is a great selection for the casual fan or anyone looking for an introduction to CCR.

Few bands of the 1960s retained as much a sense of the roots of rock and roll as did Creedence Clearwater Revival. Their music is rife with country, rockabilly, and R&B influences, a combination that produced several hit singles--most of which are present on this collection. These include "I Heard It through the Grapevine," "Lodi," "Up Around the B ," "Who'll Stop the Rain," and of course "Bad Moon Rising." This is an excellent greatest-hits collection, and a perfect introduction to the music of a band that has been enduringly influential. --Genevieve Williams
